Who Is the Richer Man?
A quiet moment beneath a golden tower.
By The Quiet Leader
I didn’t plan the shot.
I didn’t stage it.
I just turned around to see where I’d parked, and instinct brought the camera to my eye.
It was early 2017. Trump had just taken office. I was walking near the Strip in Las Vegas when I caught sight of the gold tower looming behind me—and at its base, a man, sitting quietly on the concrete with a violin case by his side. He looked tired. But not broken.
This photo became the first of my fine art prints to sell. At the time, I wasn’t trying to make a political statement. I simply captured what I saw: a man with so little—maybe just music—and a tower built by a man with everything. One seemed content. The other seemed insatiable.
And I remember thinking: Who is the richer man?

Today, in 2025, I look at this image differently.
Back then, Trump was new to the Oval Office. Now, he’s clawing back at power—not to serve, but to settle scores. To take what he believes he’s owed. To punish those who speak out. To build his name higher than before, no matter the cost.
And yet, that man with the violin case? He still teaches me something.
Because even when you’ve lost everything, you haven’t lost your ability to make music.
Even when power towers over you, you still have dignity.
Even when your name isn’t on the building, you still matter.
That’s what The Quiet Leader is about.
Leadership isn’t volume.
It isn’t wealth.
It isn’t a gold-plated tower.
It’s presence.
It’s principle.
It’s the ability to sit still in a storm and say, This is who I am.
So I’ll ask again:
Who is the richer man?
